Capt William John Doughty and his wife Sarah Ann (nee Champion) of Margate, Kent. William was lost at sea in August 1876 on his collier ‘Magic’ on route from Sunderland (Newcastle) to London at age 38 with his 8 year old son Herbert Edward Doughty. Sarah died January 31st 1915. |
